About Hatha Yoga About my Classes
Hatha is a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises and perhaps seated meditation. This is a good place to learn basic poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga. Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical postures or "asanas", purification practices, controlled breathing, and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation. Hatha Yoga can also help you cope with stress, relieve tension, and deal with anxiety and depression. More importantly, it will help you put your mind in a focused state to prepare for Meditation and, eventually, the search for enlightenment. My classes are wonderful for beginners who have never done yoga before, we go slow, each pose is explained we do a lot of relaxation, meditation, guided meditation, breathing and chakra yoga. Benefits Yoga has innumerable benefits, including improved health (detoxification, digestion, and increased circulation) and fitness (muscle tone, energy, endurance, and flexibility), improved balance and coordination, clarity of mind and uplifts our spirits. Despite the intense relaxation resulting from yoga, it is also an incredible cardiovascular workout because of the breathing exercises. This combination will leave you feeling de-stressed and energized all at once. The physical and mental benefits of yoga are endless, and regular practice of yoga can begin a path to an improved lifestyle. Regular yoga practice allows you to live more in the present moment. Helps you cope with daily frustrations and gives you the ability to replace them with a sense of peace. You will feel better at the end of a yoga class than you did at the beginning, and with regular practice you will start to take this blissful feeling off the yoga mat and into life.
